Life is falling down seven times and getting up eight.

– unknown

The phrase above is from the Japanese proverb “Nana korobi, ya oki”. I read somewhere that it is about never giving up, holding on to hope and to persevere. That your focus is not on the reality in front of you but on a greater vision that may not be a reality yet.

When I chose this title for my first blog roughly 20 years ago, I had no idea how applicable it was. I stumbled across it somewhere on the internet and just thought, I like that. I was also unaware how closely it related to my favourite bible verse which I also named a blog after: ‘What is hoped for’.

Faith is the assured expectation of what is hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen.

– Hebrews 11. 1 (NWT)

After blogging on and off for roughly 20 years this is now my Blog ; Lulu-By Place

In the past I have tried to quit, but I always come back to blogging. I love writing. Okay, I mostly write nonsense, but I love seeing words. I know what you are thinking, I should have put read there. Reading words is great, I love books but I also love looking at a screen or a book and seeing lots of words. I think it is amazing how we learn to speak a language and then create a visual of the language. I cannot really speak any other language but English, but I find multilingual individuals fascinating.

An easier way to say the above, would have been I love words and if you are visiting my blog I hope you like words too, because I do like to post about anything and everything.

This Blog has no specific theme it is just about me. Places I go, movies I have seen, books I have read, my goals, ambitions, dreams and my constant struggle with getting fit and losing weight.

Thank you for visiting.
