It has been a while since I last completed a Health and Fitness Post, but I am hoping these will be more regular as we approach the end of the year. I have mentioned in my updates recently that I joined Everyone Active at the end of August, ready for September. Since joining I have been to the gym 3 or 4 times and I have been swimming about 6 or 7 times, so my activity though still not as good as I would like it, has improved.

Swimming was not an activity I have really enjoyed in the past. It always felt like it was a lot of hastle for very little reward. Other the past few weeks, going swimming at different times and also trying different sessions, I have figured out that the problem is other people, especially when it is public swmming. Now, I book in for slow swimming sessions, they are about an hour in length, but fewer people and less likely to have a football thrown in your face. I think I will keep up the swimming until the end of October and then come back to it in the spring. Having rheumatoid arthritus, if I get to cold, I get stiff which is painful and in the winter, warmth equals less pain. I will see how it goes.

Plans

WOLF RUN TRAINING – I am still thinking of doing this next year. I am trying to improve my staminia on the treadmill and crosstrainer.

Goals

My goals for 2023 remain the same. I have added no new ones for now.

  • Lose weight – lost a little not a lot
  • Get fitter – some improvement
  • Complete the Wolf Run (autumn 2024)
  • Carry on with controlled breathing and meditation in mornings (or evenings)

Past Goals

These are goals I set back in June so I thought I would update. I will set new goals in October.

Lunch Time Walks – I am more active in my job role so I am not specifically focusing on lunch time walks.

Healthy Breakfast/Snack – still cannot face food in the morning. Need to figure this out.

Buy a Sad Step (weighing scales) – not brought yet as the one I want is out of stock still.

Evening Work Out – Twice a week at the moment, need to up it to three times.
