“Your body achieves what your mind believes.”
Welcome to my new Health, Fitness & Weight loss blog series – Seven Months of Change
“Seven Months of Change” is my personal journey to lose 50lb in seven months. Each week I will share honest updates – the wins, the struggles, the lessons – along with tips on food, fitness and motivation (hopefully). This is not about quick fixes, but about building lasting change, one week at a time.
As you are probably aware for many years now I have wanted to lose weight and get fitter. I have needed to take charge of my health. As a bigger size lady, I have often felt held back – not just physically, but mentally too. Everyday things like walking for long distances, fitting comfortably in clothes, or feeling confident in photos have been harder than they should be.
Now that all changes. This is the start of a new chapter – Seven Months of Change – where I aim to lose 50lb in about seven months. It might sound a lot but when you break it down it is 1 – 1.5 lbs a week – steady, realistic and achievable.
Why am I doing this
I am not doing this for a quick fix or a “summer body”. I am doing this because:
- I want to feel stronger and healthier.
- I want to enjoy life without constantly thinking about my weight.
- I want to build habits that last beyond the seven months.
This journey is as much about discipline and mindset as it is about food and workouts.
The Plan
This is the structure I’ll be following:
- Nutrition: A balanced meal plan (high protein, lots of veg, reasonable portions, minimal junk).
- Exercise: A mix of strength training and cardio, with daily walks.
- Tracking: Weekly weigh-ins, progress photos and monthly reflections.
- Mindset: Using milestones, checklists, and motivational guides.
I’ve already put together a meal plan, workout guide and roadmap to keep myself on track.
What to Expect from Seven Months of Change
These posts will be my accountability partner. Each week, I’ll share:
- My Progress Update (weight, fitness, mindset)
- Wins and Struggles from the week
- Lessons Learned
- Adjustments for the week ahead.
Where possible I will also try and share tips, recipes and workouts along the way – so if you are on a similar journey hopefully my experience will help and we can do this together.
Final Thoughts
Right now, I feel equal parts nervous and excited. Nervous, because change is never easy. Excited because I know where I want to be in seven months’ time – healthier, lighter and stronger.
This is not about achieving perfection. It’s about progress.
Technically, Day 1 was Monday 1 September 2025 but as I will be posting weekly on a Wednesday, let’s pretend it is today. Though I will update the progress from the 1st next week.
Here we go….
Toodles x
