“Keep your face always toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you.”

– Walt Whitman

Positivity – can be allusive these days. I don’t know about you but I feel as though all I ever hear some days is bad news. It can be hard to turn away from the negativity and then it seeps into everything you do. Trying to keep a positive outlook can be hard. For a number of years, at the end of the week, I try to reflect on all the positive/good things that have happened. This can be good things that have happened to me, or with my family, and positive things that have happened in my wider circle or in the world.

In the past I used to do a similar post but it trailed off. In those posts I only focused on good things that had happened to me which lets face it, some weeks can be harder than others. Also, I am not being funny but me just talking about myself all the time, bores me, so it must be boring for you too.

Now I am not promising these posts will be weekly but they will be regular. Each post will consist of FIVE things – Five Positive Things that have occurred during the week. At the Post is on a Friday, the week will be Saturday to Friday.

So lets begin….

  1. Harry & Joe Freeman – These two brothers were on This Morning on Tuesday and I happened to watch it. They are helping young people across the UK get fitter and gain confidence. They had a young boy on with them, called Jacob, who was being bullied at school due to being over weight. I hate bullies with all my being. Jacob has lost 3 stone with the help of Harry and Joe, and what a difference in that young man. I was so happy for him, not because he lost weight, but how much happier he was. Jacob was glowing. I found the clip on >>YouTube<< if you want to see for yourself. It was a great feel good story for Tuesday.
  2. I completed my first Zumba class and did not collapse after the first 5 minutes.
  3. Myself and my daughter went to the hairdressers and changed our hair colour. We were both very nervous about it but both of our hair has turned out great.
  4. London’s Natural History Museum received a record number of entries for The Wildlife Photographer of the Year. There have been a few images released this week but the exhibition of the 100 shortlisted begins on the 17 October 2025. I am not sure I am going to be able to see them in person but I look forward to seeing some of the photos online.
  5. I booked tickets for myself and my daughter to see Back to the Future the Musical. We go in October and I am really looking forward to it.

SO, that is my 5 positive things for the week, I hope you enjoyed it. It is a very good exercise for the end of the week and it’s nice to look back on.

Toodles x
